No wind last night along with mild tides and with Dan Ricketts and Herb Ulbrich along for the ride headed to a special spot on the Intracoastal that usually will give me limits of large trout. My guess was right ; the water was clear and light wind and tide anchored in 18 feet of water. Just a short casting distance to the grass edge that marked the drop-off that I named the bait hi-way. Immediately Dan hooks up our first of many good trout--this one hitting the 17 inch mark. Real intense fishing with a bite every cast----sometimes trout sometimes skipjack with the trout getting smaller. Cut up some skipjack into strips and started throwing it into the "pot holes" off the edge of the channel (now pay attention you will learn something) when you have a good bite going the bigger fish will lay off the edge and you can get them to bite by throwing cut bait into the grass, then the perch will attack drawing the big trout to bite. Worked today--a boat limit of ten trout from 17 to 25 inches--- pretty even on "most" fish but Dan got the big one.
