Chris Hill group from Austin,Tx. fish today. Friend, business partner Andrew Deering and the Adam boys; Leighton 15 and over six feet, Tanner eight years old and precious little Tristen at five years old. Fishing was slow today but kept the boys interested early with a bunch of skipjack and throw back trout BUT while Chris and yours truely were hooking and passing the rod to the boys Andrew was putting fish in the box (talk about being on your game). Wore out Long Bar (too many boats) went to the Submarine Bars on the west side still small trout and skipjack for me and Will and the boys but Andrew boxes a four pound trout . Tried a drift toward the observation tower with nothing but small trout and our first hardhead. Moved to Bird Island and kind of evened things out with Chris and the boys helping Andrew out with a few keeper fish with Tanner getting a three plus trout and Andrew boxing a couple more real good ones. Had been some wade fishermen in this spot so was pretty worked over so left and went to my "honey hole" This time Chris caught the first good trout and again the boys helped with a few more trout in the box  but again Andrew boxing two more good 3# plus trout. Getting late and really wanted some redfish put the boat on a drift in the middle of gaswell on the pasture---long drift catching a trout and throw back reds ever so often and POW Andrew smacks some thing good thinking it is a redfish but instead a good 5# plus trout---still want a redfish so keep drifting and finally (you guessed it) ANDREW pops a redfish--not big but a good slot fish of 24 inches. The boys are wore out and hungry (remember Leighton at 6 foot) so head to the dock with 15 trout (9 over 3#'s) and one redfish.
