Jeff Flood doesn't fish but being a real good father that didn't stop him from taking his daughter Amber and her friend Michaela Graw on a fishing trip for spring break.
Since the girls hadn't fished before went to a spot near the causeway on the east side that usually holds alot of skipjack and trout to get them use to casting, popping the cork and baiting the hook. The ladies really caught on quick immediately grabbing a live shrimp (with a little prompting) casting a good distance and setting the hook. A bunch of skipjack but very few trout and all undersize. By this time Amber and Michaela were fishing good enough to go hunting so hit a spot on the end of Long Bar and I stuck a good 3 pound trout on a red worm with Amber (after a rod swap) bringing
 it to the boat. The girls were hooking a lot of small trout but no more good ones so headed north to Bird Island. Then the girls started hitting some good trout with Michaela and Amber both catching a couple of good three pound trout quickly adding to the box making it girls four fat trout. Soon went to small trout after four drifts  so headed out north of unnecessary island with Amber boxing another keeper trout. Was too slow so took a boat ride to north of three island and after a short drift Amber hooked and after a good fight we netted a 26-27 inch redfish and again both girls started catching undersized trout and a few hard heads---- time to leave. Started a drift at the houseboat and with the girls getting tired took a couple more keeper trout and headed to the dock to clean fish. Looking foward to getting the girls back on the boat when fishing is normal---won't take long for them to fill the box.   FUN TRIP!!!!
