Enardo and Eva Jimanez from Monteray, Mx. fished today. Left the dock at 8:00 with the water temp at 57 degrees and the air temp not much better--- having to hurry and make a trip and return in time for the football games. The bay is full of trout but a lot of them are small and took some hunting to find the good ones. Catching one in and one there (all on Gas well flats) we had seven real fat trout in the box not keeping anything under 17 inches with the biggest at a respectable 20 inches. Enardo wanted a redfish so headed west to make a drift in the slough next to the intercoastal on a colorline that sometimes will hold good redfish when it is cold. Luck or skill who knows but Enardo gets a bite the hooked fish starts taking drag no doubt either a state record trout or a good redfish soon determined it was a good redfish after a couple of times around the boat netted an oversized redfish that measured a litle over 33 inches took pictures released it to make babies and since Eva was getting cold headed for the dock to clean fish and make it home in time to see New York make it to the superbowl.
